Research Interests
My research interests are in the field of Machine Learning. My PhD work involves Ensemble Methods, and their application to Non-stationary Learning Problems. I specifically study one property of classifier ensembles - diversity - how to express and optimise it, and how it can be related to adaptation in non-stationary learning.
I am also interested in Boosting algorithms, Support Vector Machines and No-Free-Lunch theorems. See my downloads page for my MSc lecture on Adaboost and my talk on NFL theorems.
Funding and collaborators
I'm funded by an EPSRC project entitled "Adaptive Dynamic Ensemble Prediction Techniques", in collaboration with researchers at Birmingham and Bristol. I'm part of the Manchester University Machine Learning and Optimization group. My supervisor is Gavin Brown.
