The configuration of labmail archiving system is done by the user lab-arch. To do this you need to be logged in as lab-arch on carousel. The configuration is in the file "~/src/submit/driverlm.pl". Within this file is a multi-line string that contains the configuration. It uses a line-based format with the details of an exercise of a course unit on each line. Having changed this, the new configuration has to be pushed to the location from which the students use it. This is done using the command "mk distrib" in the "~/src" directory. The first time that this is run it fails with a permission problem. When run a second time it succeeds! The archive is held in "/home/lab-arch/ARCHIVE/YEARS". Within this, there is a directory for each academic year. The archive year into which labmail submissions are put is not determined by the current date, but by name-list files stored in the root directory for each academic year. These name list files are named ".name-listX", where "X" indicates a module level, e.g. 1, 2, 3 or 6.
