Grants

There is a small number of grants available for students and participants from economically less well off countries.

A committee will review the applications and award grants to those who would not otherwise have resources to attend the conference, and whose attendance would benefit both the applicant and the conference. Preference will be given to authors or co-authors of accepted papers.

The Grants Committee consists of

  • Renate Schmidt, Local organiser (schmidt@cs.man.ac.uk)
  • Ian Pratt-Hartmann, Local organiser (ipratt@cs.man.ac.uk)
  • Heinrich Wansing, Program committee co-chair
  • Mark Reynolds, Program committee co-chair

Please send your letter of application to the local organisers at the email addresses above. The deadline for applying for these grants is the 6th of July 2004.

Any student applicant should also request his or her supervisor to send a recommendation letter by email to the local organisers (schmidt@cs.man.ac.uk, ipratt@cs.man.ac.uk). The letter should confirm the student's status, describe the student's work, the benefit to that work of attending the conference, and confirm that no alternative funds are available. Recommendation letters should arrive no later than the 6th of July 2004.

Applicants who receive grants will be allowed to register at the early registration rate.

Applicants will be notified of the decision of the committee by the 9th of July 2004.
