Arrival Information

The following is some preliminary information which you might find useful for your visit and arrival in Manchester.

Registration

Upon your arrival at the Chancellors Hotel and Conference Centre, there will be a registration desk for AiML located near the entrance of the centre which will be manned at the following times:

Wednesday, September 8th, 5pm-8pm
Thursday, September 9th, 8am-9:15am

At the registration desk you will be able to receive your conference package including badge and conference proceedings.

Receipts

Receipts for conference and accommodation expenses will be available with your conference package.

Accommodation

We have been able to honour all accommodation requests as on completed registration forms. A summary of registration details is available on the List of Participants accessible via the conference website.

Budget Accommodation

Delegates who requested budget accommodation are booked into either Woolton Hall or Allen Hall. If you are attending only AiML then you are booked into Woolton Hall. If you are attending both AiML and TARSKI then you are booked into Allen Hall. These details are also provided on the List of Participants.

Information for Residential Delegates

  • Information for residential delegates at CHANCELLORS:
    Upon your arrival please collect your key at the reception. Someone is on duty 24 hours every day.
  • Information for residential delegates at WOOLTON HALL:
    You can collect your keys from the reception of the hall which is available from 7am - 12 midnight. If you are staying until the 12th please could you depart by 10am as Woolton has another large conference coming in that day.
  • Information for residential delegates at ALLEN HALL:
    When arriving during office hours 9am to 5pm, please collect your keys at the office just inside the main entrance of the hall. Outside office hours please follow the instructions on the notice which will be put up at the hall, somebody will be on duty.

Facilities

The seminar rooms at Chancellors are equipped with data projectors, so you can bring your own laptop and use it for your presentation. In addition an overhead projector for old-fashioned transparencies will be available and there are flipcharts. There is a wireless network in the conference centre, which will be usable by laptop owners.

Smoking

Chancellors operates an absolute non-smoking policy. This means that no smoking is allowed in any of the rooms, this includes in particular all the guest rooms.

Parking

Free on-site parking is available at Chancellors. If the gates are closed please use the intercom to gain access.

Welcome Reception

You are invited to join us at a welcome reception at Chancellors on Thursday, September 9th at 6:30pm.

Conference Dinner - Special Dietary Requirements

At the conference dinner on the 10th, if you prefer the vegetarian option or have any special dietary requirements please send a quick response with this information to: hspragg@cs.man.ac.uk. It won't be possible to request these options on the day, because prior notice of special dietary requirements is needed.
