Before the first laboratory

Shortly before the start of laboratories (hopefully), you will be notified who your demonstrators are going to be. You will be given their email addresses and the number of sessions/hours they should do.

Demonstrators will be asked to contact you (if they fail to do this then you should let us know). It is also useful to contact them and possibly hold a short meeting in order to distribute and explain laboratory exercises and marking schemes, and to work out who will demonstrate in which laboratory session. You can also answer any questions. In particular it is important to ensure that demonstrators understand the marking scheme and will be able to apply it consistently.

Some demonstrators may well be new and you will probably need to briefly introduce them to the laboratory system in the department, explaining the basic way that ARCADE and the Lab-Book operate (we will arrange a formal demonstrator training session but not until after the first laboratories have taken place).
