The `irregularities' report

The system maintains an `irregularities' report listing such things as unexcused absences, missed deadlines, etc.. When a sheet is printed, the computer writes to the left of a student's name the number of times that student appears in the `irregularities' report for that course unit. Nothing is written for those students who do not appear. When taking attendance at a laboratory session, you should find the `irregularities' report for that particular laboratory group filed opposite the current laboratory sheet. The idea here is that you notice a number next to the students name, look up the student in the report, and check the student agrees with the irregularities. If he or she does not, and thus some data needs correcting please do not simply annotate the `irregularities' report: it is not processed and your changes will be lost. You must instead correct the data on the appropriate laboratory sheets in the book.

If you have any queries as to how you should fix it, then please seek advice from Lynda Smith (email: lynda@cs.man.ac.uk)or the year Laboratory Manager.

Please also bear in mind that the `irregularities' reports are printed when the sheets are updated, and thus may be slightly out of date.
