Ray-Tracing (1993-1994)

These images were generated using a stochastic ray-tracer written as an undergraduate final year project entitled "Experiments in Ray-Tracing and Texture-Mapping". Surfaces were defined as Bezier patches or CSG combinations of simple primitives. All images use two and three dimensional textures to modify surface properties. The three dimensional textures were generated using different types of noise signals, and the two dimensional textures were 'grown' using a celular simulation method called Reaction-Diffusion.
