There is no way that anyone can really support an all or nothing approach to this (for one thing, I know I'd have trouble deciding which book is absolutely best) and giving all the books an ordering is almost as bad, (since I'd have to decide which book was better when in some cases I don't know) so instead what you do is to give each book some number of points (between 1 and 20), or you could leave a book without any points if you don't want to vote on it for some reason (perhaps you haven't read it).
