CS2112 Student Course Evaluation Questionnaires

Analysis of questionnaires

1994/5

56 students took the exam, 39 questionnaires completed (this ratio is typical for most modules).

PRESENTATION

  Suitability	7.7 7.1	}10=excellent

In four categories CS2112 is better than average, but I still want to improve it. The first two categories (relevance & integration) are low, which I am not happy about, but perhaps that is inevitable in an optional course with few pre-requisites and no obvious follow-ons.

1994/5 and 1995/6 compared

Here are the number of individual responses of each value to the 6 questions, from 1994/5 and from 1995/6. (A '.' represents zero. I have only got the individual responses from the first 33 questionnaires from 1994/5.)

  . . . . . 2 2 6 8 17 6 1 7.4	suitability
It looks like the significant changes are that "integration" has gone down and "difficulty" has gone up since last year.

Student Comments

These are all the comments made on the back of the evaluation forms (and in answer to one student: yes, someone does read them!) My responses are in italics. Please don't think I am dismissing any of your comments; I just want to put my viewpoint so we have a better chance of understanding each other.
