Automatic Service Annotation

Chameleon

Web service annotations are used to support tasks such as discovery of services through registries and service composition. Manual curation of service annotations is both difficult and time consuming, so researchers have investigated a range of techniques to support the annotation process.

Results in this area have focused on automatic creation and testing of service annotations using workflows. In essence, workflows that make use of services, some of which are annotated, can be used as a source of information about services that have yet to be annotated.
