Feature-Oriented Component-Based Development of Software Product Families: A Case Study Chen Qian and Kung-Kiu Lau School of Computer Science The University of Manchester Kilburn Building, Oxford Road, Manchester, United Kingdom, M13 9PL Email: chen.qian,kung-kiu.lau@manchester.ac.uk Abstract: Feature-Oriented Software Development (FOSD) is widely used in Software Product Line Engineering (SPLE). FOSD constructs product families by incremental feature implementations. In this paper, we introduce a feature-oriented component-based approach, which implements features as an encapsulated components for further family modelling. A case study of elevator systems is also presented to describe the use of our approach.
