``Value-Distribution in Constraint Satisfaction Problems''. (Thesis submitted) Nicholas is currently working for the European Patent Office in Munich.
Stephen Marsland:
``On-line Novelty Detection through Self-Organization, with Applications to Inspection Robotics''. (jointly supervised with Ulrich Nehmzow.) Thesis awarded in 2002. The thesis was a runner up in the Distinguished Dissertations in Computer Science series, jointly organized by the British Computer Society and the Committee of Heads and Professors of Computer Science. Stephen is a Postdoc for Imaging Science and Biomedical Engineering Group of Manchester University. He is about to take up a lectureship in New Zealand.
Sybil Hirsch:
``The Assessment of Artificial Neural Networks and Other Statistical Techniques in Asthma Screening''. Thesis awarded in 1998. Sybil Hirsch is a researcher at the North West Lung Research Centre, Wythenshaw Hospital, Manchester.
Magnus Rattray:
``Modelling the Dynamics of Genetic Algorithms Using Statistical Mechanics''. (Thesis Awarded 1996.) Magnus is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science, Manchester University (three doors down the hall from me).
