Requirements
- Java Virtual Machine (JRE 1.5 or later)
- Eclipse Java IDE (v 3.3 or later)
- Eclipse SVN (subversion) plug-in
Step 1: Checking out the source code
- Launch Eclipse
- Select Window/Open Perspective/Other
- Select SVN Repository Exploring from the Dialog Box
- Click on the Add SVN Repository button
- Input the Protégé SVN repository location - http://smi-protege.stanford.edu/repos/protege and click on Finish in the Dialog Box
- Browse the repository and select the trunk folder under protege4/protege-standalone
- Right-click on it and select Checkout
- Click on Finish with the default settings on the Checkout Dialog i.e: Checkout as a project using the New Project wizard and Head Revision
- Select New Java Project from the possible new wizards
- In the New Java Project Wizard pick a name for your project
- Optional - you can assign it to a Working Set
- Click on finish (the rest of the settings will be adjusted later on)
- Click OK and yes to the following optional dialogue that will prompt asking whether you want to switch perspective and overwrite the standard .project file
- Now your workbench in the Java Perspective should look similar to the following
