Getting & Installing CITYZEN
Before you install or run CITYZEN you should read the
disclaimer and backup your data.
| Host | File | Size |
| UNIX | .tar.gz | 122k |
| Mac | .sit | 122k
(thanks to Mike Wheeler) |
| MS-Windows | .ZIP | 120k |
 |
IMPORTANT: If you already have version 1.0-BETA installed, you
must delete it before installing the new version.
|
Once you have retrieved and unpacked CITYZEN, you need to install 3
files on your Palm® device: CityZen.prc,
labels.pdb and segments.pdb.
CITYZEN requires
163K of free memory.
If you have your browser set up to automatically install .prc and .pdb
files, or you have a problem unpacking the archive, you can download the 3 files directly:
CityZen.prc (38k), labels.pdb (59k) and
segments.pdb (62k).
Thanks very much to Mike Wheeler who heeded my
request and built a Mac'd up archive.
Troubleshooting...
Your PalmOS® device may report sufficient free space (163K
or more) but may refuse to install one or more of the databases. This seems to
be because the free space is not in big enough chunks. Free up more space (by
temorarily removing other databases) and try again.
CITYZEN
1.1-BETA has only been tested on a 3Com Palm
III®, but has been reported to work fine on Palm III®
and Palm V® devices. Mixed reports have been made about devices
running PalmOS 2.x (namely Palm Professional® units). Please use
the feedback
form to let me know your experience of using CITYZEN on any
non-PalmOS 3.x machines.
The run-time database of the this version is bigger than that of version
1.0-BETA. If you have version 1.0-BETA installed, you must delete it before
installing the new version. If you don't delete the old copy of the
application before installing the new one, you will suffer a (safe) reset when
you first exit CITYZEN.
Updates
If you like CITYZEN
and want to informed when updated versions are released, please use the feedback form to send
