Find Mode

Use Find Mode to jump directly to a place using an alphabetically sorted list. The list contains all cities, countries, islands, lakes and oceans in the database.

There are several different ways of navigating this list; you can also control which types of items are shown.

Press Cancel to exit Find Mode without selecting anything.

Tap one of the letters to jump to the first entry for that letter

Use these buttons to move backward or forward one page. You can also use the hardware scroll buttons to move page by page.

Countries are shown in all capital letters and capital cities are shown in bold. Set the view to one the places by tapping on it.

Use Graffiti® to enter the first few letters of the name, the list will skip to the nearest matching entry.

Choose a category to display: all entries, cities, capitals, countries, islands, lakes or oceans.

When you use Find Mode to locate something, the label will be selected the same as if you had tapped on it in Plot Mode using the Select Tool.
