This applet will search the archive for the string you specify. Note that it doesn't know how tosearch for things that are split across multiple lines (that's quite a bit more difficult) and it cannot highlight what it found (that's a lot more difficult! Maybe if I move to a Java2 applet I could implement it, but then nobodys' browser would be able to display the applet anyway.)
This applet requires a good Java 1.1 implementation, as there is no way that I am going to write a stream decompresser without great financial compensation. Reportedly, Netscape 4.05 is not capable of running the applet, but Netscape 4.5 is.
