This page is an example of creating an OwlSight ontology repository by using GRDDL, a very lightweight "metadata embedding" mechanism. We simply embed some RDF in this page and then OwlSight uses GRDDL to extract that data programatically. The RDF it extracts describes an "ontology repository", that is, a collection of OWL ontologies that are published somewhere on the Web.

This technique is useful because it lets anyone create an arbitrary collection of ontologies, publish a description of them embedded in a web page -- like this one -- and use the OwlSight ontology browser to view the repo.

This collection has three ontologies:

  1. Time Ontology
  2. BFO Ontology
  3. Wine Ontology

Browse this OWL repository in OwlSight. Hmm, this is one of those cases where some braindead little Web thing still has the ability to make me say, "that's cool!"... Fun stuff!

Time Ontology An OWL Ontology of Time (OWL-Time).
