I am a Lecturer in advanced interfaces at the School of Computer Science, The University of Manchester. Prior to that I was a postgraduate research fellow at the School of Computing, University of Leeds. I gained a PhD in Computer Science (2001), an MSc in Vision, Visualisation and Virtual environments (1995) both from the University of Leeds, and a BSc in Computer Science (1994) from the University of Crete.

My primary area of research is in Computer Vision with applications to behaviour modelling and human-computer interaction. In particular, my research concerns the development of innovative new techniques that enable the automatic acquisition of stochastic models of object shapes and behaviours through observation. These models can be used for recognition, prediction and synthesis of novel object behaviour and for the interpretation of dynamic scenes.
